Aventi hosts student project

This spring we have had a group of students joining our daily work. They have been performing their diploma project for us and they have developed a control system for pump stations.

The group consisted of three members: Anders Dahlgren, Geir Anders Haga and Admir Bitanga. Aventi Technology AS thanks for the group’s achievements and wishes the members good luck further on in their careers.

This projects’ objective was to create a standard solution control system for pump stations. This solution should be easy modified to fit any conditional pump station. These pump stations control the pressure and flow of oil in high voltage cables. The cables are only used subsea and transports up to 525.000 VAC with a maximum range of 50 km. Due to the high pressure on the seabed the cable needs the oil pressure to prevent it from imploding and short-circuiting.

A big part of the project was to implement the developed solution into a specific pump station, this pump station is located in Hainan, (China).

The project also included development of a simulator. This simulator is used to simplify testing and marketing of the product.

To accomplish these three main-tasks of the project Allan Bradley PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controller) are used and the HMI (Human Machine Interface) system and the simulator are developed in LabVIEW.
